Dave's trip

Check out Dave's trip at grace4rwanda.com.

There's also info on Mike's blog on the church's website gogracefellowship.com then click on blog.

He was 4 feet from 400lb gorillas, tomorrow he may get to go hear a genocide murderer repent publicly as a part of their repentence/justice system - Wow. It's been amazing, but we are looking forward to having him home Friday night.

Love,
Melissa

Friday...Friday... Friday

It must be Friday. I talked to Heather today and they are having their own party. Grace will be having a party at a kiddy gym. I am sure completely run by professionals. We will miss her and all of the Wascos. Dad

Who ratted me out?

Okay, someone ratted me out. I had this great plan to have one of the games for Hope's dog themed party to be the kids eating out of a dog bowl. I knew the secret of successful pulling this off was to not have the sanitized version form you-know-who know about it. Well, today as I was getting ready for production she informed me that the "dog eating game" was not a good idea. I thought it was brilliant, inspired and to be loved by every kid alive. I want you to know that I am still pumped about the games for the "big party" tomorrow and have committed my Friday afternoon to inspiration and production. See you at the dog bowl tomorrow. Big Jer

waiting for dinner

Susie is doing something special in the kitchen and I am checking the weather channel. we are expecting server weather tonight. Susie is expecting. The rest of us will have our weather alerts asleep. Is anyone interested in putting together a March Madness NCAA pool? Can we talk Rob or Chris into it? I got an email response from Dave about "my girls" blog comment. I meant our girls and their families. Dave's in. Grill work is ready for me. Soon. Dad

Catching up

Hey, we had a great trip to Sarasota, Naples and Miami. I should write a family letter, but for now i will blog. Richie sis doing better. he is cancer free but still doesn't feel well. He was tired and bald. He inquired about the family blog. I told him the same thing I told Janet, that the blog was for girls. I checked this with Heather and Melissa, they agreed with Susie, this blog is for girls. I will need to set up another blog for greater family members. Tara is moving to Thomasville Ga. Gerrie reports that Curves is still not doing well. They will need to make a decision soon. Tom is being Tom. He is having another surgery. He says that it is nothing. Bob and Elaine were there for a couple of weeks. Mostly to see Beulah. We came back on Tuesday to go to the variance hearing. It was fun and we passed. Now we need an architect and contractor. We called Reid Hunt and are going to dinner with him. We will see.
I thought I had more to say. Later, Dad

Providence visit

Hey, this is a report on our visit to Providence. We had a safe flight from Orlando. Our 8am flight was canceled in a 5 am phone call from Delta. We spent the day in Orlando and left at 3:30 pm we got to Providence via Atlanta at 8:45 pm. Friday we went to the Children's Museum and toured the Brown U. campus. We ate dinner at Pizza Hut an spent the evening with the Wascos. We became aware of some information that i had not shared with the girls. Louise had additional surgery on Monday to have a stint put in the heart. As it turns out she had four stints put in. She is scheduled to come home of Thursday and feeling better by the end of the week. Jean is keeping me informed. The other news was that Marla Cannon is getting married this summer. She is marring a guy from Colorado. They met in High School but went separate ways until this past summer when she was visiting her parents. He will be moving to Orlando.

I understand that these reports are supposed to be short.
Amy is sick. Heather is pregnant. Mom is cold. Chris when to be at 8:30 the other night. He thinks he is becoming Rob. Brett and Kristen are going in Delray Beach this weekend. Melissa and Dave are enjoying the weekend. President's day is Monday. We are going to Springfield Mass. tomorrow. We are going to bed now. Goodnight.

Our baby is growing up!

Our little girl is sleeping in her big girl bed in her big girl room! At least, we assume she's actually in the bed :) She took a nap in there today and then decided she didn't want to sleep in her crib tonight. She also peed on the potty this weekend. I think it was an accident, but we're counting it anyways! It's like she knows there's a new baby coming into the house and it's time for her to grow up!

Love,
Heather

Hannah's Riding Lessons

Hannah had a great time at her riding lesson tonight that mom and dad got her for her birthday.
We will try to get pictures posted for you to see. She learned how to make the horse go, stop, turn left and turn right. She fell off the horse at the end when the teacher got the horse to trot. But she got right back up there and ended it on a positive note. Rob's mom and dad came up to watch her. She was cold and tired by the time her lesson was over.

Also - I need to make an ammendment to one of my resolutions. I commit to getting up by 6:40 on school mornings - instead of 6:15 (just not possible). If anyone has a problem with this change after the fact - tooooo baaaaad! By the way - I have NOT SEEN resolutions posted for everyone....

Hope to talk to you soon. LOVE - AMY

Let the year begin....
Hi Haralson Clan! We had a great post-Christmas time with all of you. It was good to hear everybody got home okay, even with sniffles. I have a new cell phone and am using it beginning now, so here is my new number:

407-864-8061

Here is the recipe for Dr. Oz's Magic Breakfast Smoothie:

1/3 C soy protein (Nature's Plus Spiru-Tein) (I use the vanilla flavor)
1 t psyllium husks (powdered)
1/4 C frozen blueberries
1/2 large banana
1/2 T apple juice concentrate or honey (I use honey)
1/2 T flaxseed oil
4 oz. water
1 C liquid measuring cup filled with ice cubes

Blend all together.

The soy protein, flaxseed oil and psyllium husks probably will have to be purchased at a health food store. Enjoy.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year !!! I made it until after midnight. I watched the PBS version of Rockin New Year. I recognized the songs. Susie fell asleep on the couch. It reminded me of the times we visited Mom and she would fall asleep. I think it is a sign of getting old when PBS has your kind of music. We are going to work on budgeting and finances today, watch a little football and be gald we made into another year. Have a great day. Big Jer
